A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and Moon align in a straight line, and the Earth blocks sunlight, causing the entire Moon to enter Earth's umbra. Due to Earth's atmosphere refracting some light, the Moon appears dark red.
On the morning of September 8, 2025, a rare total lunar eclipse will occur. This event will feature observation through the newly built giant telescope at the Tai Mei Tuk Observatory of the Galaxy Scientific Group.
