Regenerating Lantau Mountain Camp: Co-creative architectural restoration and nature conservation through participatory initiatives

Night-sky Observation 26 July 2025 (Saturday)

Overview
Nestled between Sunset Peak and Yi Tung Shan, Lantau Mountain Camp is a century-old summer retreat that preserves the spiritual legacy of early 20th-century missionaries. As one of Hong Kong's last remaining dark sky sanctuaries, this heritage site offers unparalleled stargazing opportunities, where historic stone
cabins stand silhouetted against the Milky Way.

This training program is an educational activity of the " Regenerating Lantau Mountain Camp: Co-creative architectural restoration and nature conservation through participatory initiatives" which is an approved project under the Lantau Conservation Fund.  It is collaboratively organized by the School of Architecture at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Galaxy Scientific Group. Through this night-sky observation, this activity aims to guide participants in experiencing Lantau's serene natural beauty under the starry night sky, while exploring the intriguing history of Lantau Mountain Camp.
